Danielle Gerle

Danielle Gerle has been the teacher at the Carstairs Playschool since September of 2009. She is a highly skilled and qualified teacher.  Mrs. Gerle graduated with Honors, from University of Alberta in 1996, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in Sociology, minoring in Psychology. 

Mrs. Gerle has certification in Level 2 Early Learning Educator issued by Early Learning and Child Care Regulation.  She also has received certificates from Parent-Child Mother Goose Program and Building Babies Brains.  Mrs. Gerle continues to attend conferences and sessions to further educate herself in Early Childhood Education.  She also has First Aid/CPR and WHMIS training.

When Mrs. Gerle isn’t teaching, she is spending time with her husband and two teenage daughters. She enjoys cross stitching, watching hockey, and football.

Michelle Johnson

Ms. Michelle Johnson joined our team as the Teachers Assistant October 22, 2018

Ms. Johnson was born and raised in Carstairs.  She currently lives just outside of our town with her partner and two children.  She enjoys camping and reading when she is not busy being a mom.   

Ms. Johnson successfully completed Level 1 Early Learning Educator in March of 2019. Ms. Johnson continues to work on professional development.

Michelle is very creative and is often the person who designs our Dramatic Play centers, brainstorms new crafts and creates decorations for the party themes. Michelle’s warm personality and kind smile make her a wonderful addition to our facility. 

 

Cristin Sukhetsky

Cristin started as an EA at the playschool in 2021, mainly working for Foothills Creative Beginnings with the PUF program and children who require additional supports, but also supporting staff and children at the playschool.

Cristin was born and raised on a farm north east of Carstairs where she resides with her husband and 3 children. 

She graduated from U of C with a degree in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies. Crisitin worked for Chinooks Edge School Division as an EA, before taking time off to stay home and raise her children.

Cristin enjoys camping and horseback riding. You will often see Cristin around as she is a very active volunteer with 4H and lunch program at CES.

 

Christina Longmuir

Christina is the newest member to the Carstairs Playschool Society. She was a occasionally a substitute EA for the playschool ,and decided to join our team fulltime in April of 2023. She too assists both Foothills Creative Beginnings and Carstairs Playschool.

Christina is working towards her Child Care and Early Learning Certificate Level 1. She gained lot of experience in past employment as an EA in a school setting. She has her First Aid/CPR.

Christina lives on a farm north of Carstairs with her husband and two children. She enjoys camping, cooking, gardening, making stained glass and crocheting.

Christina is also an active volunteer within our Carstairs community.
